Perhaps I spoke too soon with that article last week--today, the Wall Street Journal published an article about the global reach of roller derby.

Big Banger of the Nashville Rollergirls expressed her displeasure with the financial shenanigans that are threatening Herbalife, described in this NPR show.

The Lingerie Football League is rebranding itself as the Legends Football League and actually (gasp!) letting its players wear real uniforms and protective gear now.

Apparently, people actually ARE interested in female athletics. At least, that's what I have to assume this means. Somehow, I can't imagine that the Lingerie Football League made a decision that wasn't motivated by the potential for profit.

Derbylife is looking for a new photo/video editor. Do you love derby photography and want to be involved in sharing it with the derby world?

The position is very flexible and can be done pretty much any time during the night or day, and would probably require at least 5-10 hours a week of work. The basic responsibilities are choosing great photographs and videos for our front page, loading them into the website, and keeping track of/expanding our photographer permissions list.

If you're anything like me, you're working from home today because the subways are down, nervously Googling the storm and peering occasionally out your window as the dog confusedly growls at nothing. (What do you mean you're not like me?) So I'm considering myself a bit of an expert on Hurricane Sandy coverage, and I can honestly say that this is the best Hurricane Sandy Report I've seen so far.

ESPN Magazine has embraced the strength of a good posterior in an interesting new article for this month's upcoming Body Issue. (Which will, of course, never ever top last year's).

Thomas Gerbasi, who contributed to Derbylife a few weeks back with a profile of Shayna Baszler, has written an excellent piece on Bonnie Thunders and the modern sport of roller derby for The Daily Beast. There's also a video with it.
