Help Wanted: In Search of a New Photo Editor
Derbylife is looking for a new photo/video editor. Do you love derby photography and want to be involved in sharing it with the derby world?
The position is very flexible and can be done pretty much any time during the night or day, and would probably require at least 5-10 hours a week of work. The basic responsibilities are choosing great photographs and videos for our front page, loading them into the website, and keeping track of/expanding our photographer permissions list.
We’d love someone who has much bigger ideas, though. Do you want to do a weekly photo slideshow with a guest editor/photographer? Photo essays? Spotlight on a photographer/videographer? More photo contests? Great! We’re totally on board. Derbylife loves and values derby photographers and videographers, and wants to showcase their work and their involvement in our derby community.
Drop us a line (emdash (at) derbylife (dot) com) and let us know what previous experience you have that would be relevant, and why you’re interested. Please also suggest a new feature or initiative you would want to undertake if you got the position. This is not a paid position, but if you can get college credit for an internship, we can totally work something out.
P.S. For those who are interested, we work with a content management system based on the Drupal platform, but if that’s meaningless to you, that’s OK. It’s pretty simple, and we can teach you whatever you need to know.
P.P.S. The Video Editor piece could be a separate position–let us know if you’re interested in just that part.
