Flat Track Around The World – One Skater’s Documentary Dream

Here, we share with you a Letter to the Editors about a skater made documentary project that could use your help.

“I am a filmmaker working on a documentary,”Flat Track Around the World”, about the globally transformational power of women’s roller derby. I am co-producing it with Juvie Hall of the Rose City Rollers in Portland, Oregon.

Our film seeks to discover how women in a variety of cultures experience the sport, to explore how they capitalize on their personal changes to improve their communities, and to spread derby love worldwide and encourage more women to get involved in this sport.

Our all-female crew is experienced in documentary filmmaking, well versed in international escapades, and most importantly, dedicated to women’s roller derby. You can see an example of our work and view a trailer for the film here:

Our first international trip for the film will be Mexico. We have a Kickstarter fundraising campaign that is currently active and we are reaching out to various leagues to help us get the word out about the film and build an audience.

We understand not everyone has money to give to support our epic undertaking, but we are also trying to spread the word by writing about our project.

Thanks for your time,
Cynthia Lopez”
